Re: B.162-LS - A.{Mr Adams} Hartley Esq.

Re your memo. H9/H28.5.38.

We have not been advised by GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} of what he found when he tested the car at K.{Mr Kilner}

We were rather surprised that K.{Mr Kilner} had thought it necessary to interfere in any way with the rear axle especially as this was the second axle to be tried under this car.

When I went to Owner's home to test this car I was able to demonstrate to the Chauffeur that the noise complained of could be varied as the car was driven over different kinds of road surfaces.

There was no question of periods, the noise was there as soon as the car began to move until it was drowned by wind and other noises. In view of this we do not think any useful purpose will be served by me trying this car with Captain Owen.

As GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} has so recently tried the car, and we at W. considered it standard for its type, we should welcome GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} views, and if in his opinion there is anything we can do to improve it.

We cannot trace a copy of your reply to Captain Owen of the 26th inst.
