To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. G/Rb.{R. Bowen} 1260? 261 ROY{Sir Henry Royce}/Les.4/B.9.6.38. Chassis B.214-GA - Breeden. G/Rb.{R. Bowen}6/A/W.2.6.38 shows that £5.4.11d was spent on Mr. Breeden's Bentley in the Experimental Department in order to reduce brake squeaks. We consider that this item should be charged to the Company Policy as this was a gesture towards obtaining "Goodwill" with our outside suppliers. We have since worked in conjunction with Wilmot-Breeden Ltd. and besides receiving very large reductions in quotations for Bumpers for Wraith and B.III, there has been a saving of £380 in the prices of the front stabilising Bumpers for 'M' series Bentley II.
