STEERING BOX CHASSIS [Faint underlying text:] of this problem we have followed by giving a [illegible] and a slightly increased width of spring shackle [illegible] and shortened shackle. [Over-typed text:] Lengthened studs and a good solid packing piece should do the job. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} (2) We believe the present design to be adequate owing to the fact that the vertical pivots on the track rod have a very small angular movement. We therefore propose to retain the existing vertical pivots and spring packing piece with this change. [Handwritten next to sketch:] Vertical Link Ball-joint. (c) The means of anchoring the spring to the vertical link have now been considerably strengthened, as at 'A' on [illegible]. [Handwritten next to sketch:] Wheel steer or R.H. (4) The spring and the hub are wider in favour of greater strength. Aluminium axle. (5) Attaching the disc wheel thus so that we can keep the wheel track from being too wide. .O.T.A. | ||
