-4- (g) If rig is available we might get a figure for forward facing intake whether any adjustment to carbs is necessary. (h) Every point in testing should be checked over to ensure 100% job before passing off. General.- 1. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Spooner to take a comparison of deflection with load on B 60 unit having a cutaway clutch case, as against Wraith or B V as discussed. 2. Cylinder bore wear. The cars 25 G VI, 27 G VI, Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s, Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}'s and Lp{Mr Lappin}'s to be equipped with variables for information on bore wear. Should be divided as follows;- 1. Comparisons of alloys layed down in memo RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/VS{J. Vickers} 1/JTG 9.8.38 in form of short inserts. 2. Comparison of R.R. split skirt pistons against Bentley close clearance skirt Aerolite and obsolete piston of same make with larger clearance. 3. Comparisons of oil jet squirt holes in rods against holes. 4. Comparisons of untreated standard rings against tin-plated rings. 5. Comparisons of cylinder block with 3 bores plated and unplated. 6. Comparisons of Wraith ring set up (L section) gas ring and low pressure scraper against Bentley set up (full pressure gas rings) and high pressure scraper. 7. In conjunction with B 11 blocks with short liner inserts and solid blocks in Cr{Mr Cra???ster / Mr Chichester} Mo. Alloy, and we also have 1/2% chromium block which can also be submitted for tests.
