To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} X4553 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}10/KW.10.4.34. Crankshaft for 5-B-IV. We have previously asked for a standard shaft to be fitted to this car but should now like that shown on the attached Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1350. This crankshaft has 1" wide big end bearings for which we shall use a narrow steel rod lined with strip lead bronze. This crankshaft cannot be made from existing forgings, but we understood you to say some time ago that you had one twisted forging that would meet the case.
