Sidgreaves - MD} was here the other day he agreed that Mays should be allowed to have certain modifications to his new car. These are - (1) 7 : 1 compression cylinder head. This means machining 75 thou. from the Bottom of the head and having a special thin gasket which can be supplied by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell} (2) Thermoid clutch facings. (3) Larger tyres. Piece number of the wheels is GW.429, and the type of India Tyre size 6 1/2 x 17 as known to India's as the "Bentley Silent Tyre". (4) Mellow tone horn. In addition, the brake drums and complete servo unit off his present car B.24.GA. should be removed and fitted to his new car. RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} has said he will supply the set of drums and servo for 24.GA. The brake linings on B.144.LS should be Ferodo B2. Mays usually has his wheels chromium plated, but as these have given considerable trouble we are going to try and persuade his secretary to agree to cellulose wheels of the same colour.
