Bentley Motors (1931) Ltd., DERBY...................Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 1245 Jules SWDL{Len H. Swindell} [crossed out] Sr/VA2/Crn. 5.1.37. Look out for these bearings coming into the Stores Rms chassis B.60 GA - Paris Trials car. (10,000 mile test of standard W/M bearings.) With reference to our VA5/ET.31.12.36, this morning we entered the following parts into our Stores, instructing that they should be sent to you by air :- 1. Front, centre & intermediate main bearings & liners. 2. Liners of the Hall's metal big end bearings. You will observe that some of the liners (shims) of the big end bearings are in a poor, fair & good condition. The Hall's metal main bearings which we have fitted to this car are :- Front & centre (4) EB.2811 ) Intermediates (8) EB.2814 ) These were received from the Works in case B.699 on the 9/10/36. The car has just come in after being out on a two hour road test, and so far the engine is running O.K., there being no sign of stiffness. We would mention that the car was run slowly on top gear up hill, and also on the flat. Sr. VA2 | ||
