Mr. Pearson and me here in Detroit, will probably also write you about them. He seemed quite interested to have you try this type of synchronizer. Complete sets of details and assemblies of transmissions above referred to will be sent you including special details of the modifications required to introduce synchronizers.

You will note that no grinding of gear teeth has been done on the small transmission you will receive and that ordinary production limits used on high production jobs are used throughout. Considering this I feel it is an exceedingly good job and is better, or I mean quieter, than any other type transmission in commercial production that we know of in this country.

Chrysler's experience in commercial production indicates that it is easier (much easier) to get the quietness desired from the spool gear type transmission than from either helical or herringbone types.

I hope you can arrange to try the transmission that is being sent, which is 173 ft. lb. capacity on one of your smaller cars just as you receive it. What I mean is, before taking the gears out of this box and applying them to a special box. If you can do this it will give you a quick feel of the gears and clutches and perhaps bring you to a quicker decision as to what you want to do.

The small transmission can be shipped in about two weeks, and I will be glad to have your reaction after you have tested it.

Yours very sincerely,

C.A. Neracher.
