The gearboxes are being arranged to take the automatic control and if we get the correct shock absorbers fitted, the actual connecting up of the automatic control is not difficult; or as an alternative some form of hand control could be fitted.

The point we are anxious to do is to get it on the new type dampers. These dampers will be used on J.2 and J.3.

(4) Luvax Scheme of Central Lubrication.

We can see no reason why we cannot get this improved and cheaper form of lubrication on the 20/25. We have run it 20,000 miles on an experimental car. It has been fitted to the car for nearly two years so we do not see why we should go on perpetuating an expensive scheme which is less reliable than the improved one.

(5) Improved Axle Control.

One of the urgent fittings required for the 20/25 is the front axle control. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} is getting out a design for this and although it may not be possible to get it on this next set of material we should like it to be considered because we are going to be in the position of selling Phantoms, Peregrine, and Bensport with axle control, and the 20/25 without, which is not consistent.

My own opinion is that the 20/25 will continue to be manufactured for at least another twelve months and therefore we must keep it up to date. It will also be noticed that most of the improvements will come in on J.2 and J.3.

Another point we should be prepared to go ahead with is cold pressed frames for 20/25. We have run these on Peregrine both on the bumper and severe tests in France so we are also running them on J.3. I believe BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} and H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} are in agreement that it would be safe to adopt these frames as standard on 20/25.

It may be worth while having a talk around our suggested list of improvements, some of them may be possible but we are certain they are all desirable.
