WRAITH III AND PHANTOM III
BACK AXLE.

Re your memo R/Hdy.{William Hardy}1/JR.{Mr James Royce}18.7.37. suggesting alterations to sizes of holes on Axle tubes and End Plates.

We do not anticipate any trouble whatever from the sizes recently agreed to by all concerned, i.e. .3125±.5 dia. which would appear to be an ideal figure and condition.

.343 dia. holes have been tried and proved unsatisfactory. A somewhat similar result is anticipated from .324±.5 dia. holes, and we therefore suggest that no action should be taken unless trouble is experienced with .3125±.5 dia. holes.
