re. BODY - 3-PER.2.

84027.

We regret that the date of Oct. 5. has not been kept for the delivery of this body. The causes are as follows:

(1) The increase in trade has taxed Park Wards Works heavily to give delivery to Sales and customers of our standardised 25HP. saloons. Work on the experimental bodies has had to take second place, especially as we have been given a very specially reduced price.

(2) We have only recently received a sample wheel and tyre (Sept. 24.) and then the tyre had to be returned, being incorrect in size, and the correct one has not been received. This is needed to enable the rear of the body to be completed, in which the wheel is housed. We still have not got the Dunlop dummy hub for carrying the same. (telephoned to Park Ward on 7-10-32)

(3) We asked in EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}3/10632. when this, and the remaining bodies, were ordered, that you should enumerate the various difficulties experienced in mounting the body on 1-Per.2., so that we could correct our dummy chassis, and also that BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} should go over and correct our drawings of the body, and dummy chassis, as they were made from RR. schs., and not dimensioned drawings. Neither of these have been done.

Subject to the receipt of the correct tyre and dummy hub, we have arranged for Park Wards to give delivery of the body for 3.Per.2., on Oct. 14., subject to later confirmation.

[Handwritten note at bottom]
Tracings were produced and an instruction (type written and signed and sent to makers) were issued to Park Ward on 20th Oct.
