In reply to your Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}3/MH.{M. Huckerby}18.8.39., we do not use any special paint on Marine Merlin engines to prevent corrosion. The British Power Boat Co. paint all their engines white but in order not to produce too great a diversity in production, we are at present still painting the engines black with the standard paint used for the Aero engine and then they are painted white over the top of this by The British Power Boat Co.
