Dear Major Searight:

With further reference to the K.S. petrol gages which we are running over here.

We have recently had two failures due to the pipes connected to the dashboard unit failing. The failure occurs between the point where the three small pipes are enclosed in the armoured cover and the dashboard unit.

The unsupported length of these pipes is, of course, quite considerable, and they have to carry the weight of the armoured hose.

It therefore appears to us that unless some support is provided for the armoured hose, and the length of the fine tube reduced, we shall have repeated failures of this sort under Continental conditions of touring.

We shall be glad if you can give this matter your attention, and let us know what you recommend.

Yours faithfully,
