SPECIFICATION OF COACHWORK 1.B.50. Four Door, Six Light Saloon - Long Wheelbase Bentley. Chassis. B.50 Type Long Wheelbase Chassis, for all particulars see drawings in appendix herewith. One spare wheel on off-side - wheels 7 x 16. Body. Four Door- Six Light Saloon. The design - PD.108 has been so arranged that with the minimum of alteration a 4 light Saloon can be produced. Likewise the centre pillar is so placed that a division can be added as an extra. The body is so constructed that with a division a heater feeding both compartments and a Motorola wireless set can be fitted as extras without structural changes. Shell Construction. All-metal. The body to be a prototype of what is to be offered in quantities on production at the agreed price, as far as this is possible in the time available. Front Wings. Alum SWG.16. with high cat-walk as designed, and carried entirely on the radiator and bonnet valance at the front and rigidly attached to the front end of the platform steps. Rear wings. Alum. SWG.16, and carried entirely on the rear wheel arches. Petrol filler in the rear wing on the nearside. Stone Shields. Latest approved pattern. Doors. To be as thin as possible. Front door hinged on centre pillar and rear door on after pillar, with external hinges having stainless steel pins ( or lubricated steel pins). Door checks of the latest approved type. Offside front door to have remote control door handle, as drawn on PD.108. All others to have the interior handles on the lock spindle. Special Wilmot-Breeden locks to be used if available, otherwise the present standard Bentley lock. All handles to be of the same pattern. Windows Triplex Toughened Glass 3/16" thick. Doors to be sealed on the outer face of the jamb by rubber fillet. | ||
