Notes of Meeting. RR. Chassis cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} He is also arranging to get rubber engine mounting on this car as quickly as possible so that this can undergo the 10,000 miles test. Wilson Epicyclic Box on 20/25 HP. This was referred to as per E/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey}1/HP.18.5.34. It was agreed that it must not take precedence over important items such as rubber engine mounting etc. etc., but it was agreed that we must not neglect it and that Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} will investigate the question of what car he can put the box on. Diamond Cylinder Boring. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} enquired what had happened arising out of E5/HP14.4.34. Apparently nothing very much isat present known about this and E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} undertook at Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}'s request to try to obtain some more information on the subject. Gearboxes. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} enquired as to how we were getting on with the scaling down of the SpectreCodename for Phantom III gearbox for the 20/25 and the Bentley, which at the meeting on May 1st it was decided was the right thing to do. He stressed the fact that, as we have got to live with our present model for some time, this matter was important. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} said that BY.{R.W. This matter was referred to as per Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}14/MA.10.5.34. Apparently design work is required for certain parts. It was agreed that we ought to press on with this matter and try to get 6 sets on to cars under the Company's control or on cars in the hands of friendly customers. Re Wraith Engine Design. The specification as given in E.1/HP.30.4.34 was referred to in conjunction with Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/KT. 11.5.34 giving the Experimental Department's comments . E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} went through this and appeared to be in agreement with practically all the points. In view of the fact that we shall be reducing the efficiency of our camshaft for the reasons given, it was agreed that we ought to increase the size of the bore by 1/8" which in view of the HP tax reduction will still keep us down to a reasonable | ||
