The failure of the steering on 4.B.50 suggests that the increased steering effort due to larger tyres proves too much for the existing steering design, if it is made in the present material. I shall be interested to know exactly what material Adamants use, compared with the material that Hoffmann's use for the follower, which we know to be the best obtainable. Can you see any objection to us using a full E.P. oil in the steering box? If not, we will try this on 30.G.VII. though the failure appears to be more due to crushing than chucking of the surfaces.
