In regard to the question of balance would advise that all units which leave these Works are balanced on special machines to a static balance of 1/2 oz. ins. and we feel sure you will agree that this is a fairly fine commercial limit. [Handwritten note: Not good? enough] [The text '1/2 oz. ins.' is underlined]

With regard to the query raised in connection with the possibility of ridges being formed either on the pressure plate or pressed steel cover we presume you mean at the point where the pressure plate lugs project through the slots formed in the clutch cover, and in this regard would advise that we have so far not experienced trouble in this regard. Should you require the clutch covers turned to a definite dimension as indicated above then the additional charge per clutch would be 1s.0d. on the 10" size, and 1s.3d. on the 11" size, nett.

[Handwritten note in left margin: We should ask them the cost of balancing material]

Trusting the above will give you the information required, and at the same time if we can be of further assistance please do not hesitate to call upon us,

Yours faithfully,

BORG & BECK COMPANY LIMITED
