(9) P. 2. LOUVRED BONNETS. We have already written to you about the soft metal and the arrangement of the stiffeners in the bonnets of P. 2. We would be glad if you would tell us the difficulties in connection with making louvred bonnets, as we think that it is serious to go on delivering such bonnets as they are now made. You will have seen 12-XJ. which shews what a car is like after it has been on the road, but many bonnets are badly bent and distorted before they leave the coachbuilders. Is it the double louvre that is the trouble? If we could know the difficulties we might be able to modify the design. Could you send us a blueprint of the arrangement of the louvred bonnet? We are not quite sure whether we have one.

(10) CASTIGHT LEVERS. On the 25HP. we have sent you a scheme for making the levrs gastight some while ago, and we notice that the change speed and gear quadrant have been modified to this scheme, but there is no instruction on the coachbuilder's print telling him how to make use of it. We suggest that a small scale edition of our N. sch. 2634. should be shewn on the chassis print. A similar arrangement can be used on P.1. except that as the boards are mounted on the subframe the blocks under the boards must not contact with the chassis frame but should be covered with thick felt as per sketch. To prevent the cold air entering the brake lever slot, and also mud, we are sending you designs shortly.

(11) P. 2. FLOORBOARDS. We have already sent you some instructions for stiffening the front floorboards, and we think these will go a long way to meet the complaints.

25HP. FLOORBOARDS. We have already suggested that the 1st. horizontal board should stop short before it reaches the servo, so that the gash for the servo and for the change speed mechanism comes into the centre of the 2nd. board. We think this 2nd. board should be supplied by ourselves as it is a board which is badly cut away and needs careful treatment. We do not remember authorising the discontinuance of this board. We should not have agreed to it.
