12. 2 B.A. Screw for Planet Case for Starter Epicyclic. E.17307 Planet Case Cover. E.17296.

The Production Dept. stated that a diameter should be given for the size of the plain portion below the head of the screw to agree with the .200 diameter counter bore, in E.17296. The size of head should be increased, otherwise it will be impossible to get the tapered portion of the bolt to fit the counter-sunk hole in E.17296.
Also the size of countersunk holes should be altered to suit the modified bolt - E.17307.
This modification was agreed to, but in addition it was thought impractical to make all six screws fitting. It was therefore agreed that the three screws for the pinion boss only should be fitted and the remainder given clearance.

13. Exhaust Manifold. E.17132.

Notes should be added to this drawing to indicate where the various parts have to be welded, also the drawing does not specify whether all the branches are to be welded into the neck-ets or not. Two drawings should be made to show that these Manifolds are required Right and Left Hand, otherwise the Order Office will order 200 Manifolds off one hand instead of each hand. The present drawing does not show that all the flanges are to be welded on in the same position, as regards the angular position of bolt holes, and a plan view should be added to show this. The drawing does not appear to be dimensioned in the best way to show the Outside Contractors that it is important that the branches should be accurate as regards centre.
These alterations and additions were agreed to, and it was also agreed that the first, sixth, seventh and twelfth only should be welded to the manifold and the remainder should be merely pushed in.

14. Valve Rocker Bushes. E.16874 & E.16875.

These parts require making suitable for both hands. This can be done, it was pointed out by the Production Dept., by providing two sets of oil holes, one on each side of the Dowel Hole.
This alteration was agreed to.

15. Control Shaft Lever. E.17526.

In order to bring the faces of the bosses into line, it was agreed that the dimensions should be altered as per memo. attached to blueprint.
