TO E from DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to BH. c. to E.O. X4263 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} DAL/CB18-4-21. 19 1921 RECEIVED X4263 RE GOSHAWK II - FRONT AXLE. Replying to your E1/G16-4-21 you will no doubt remember on the occasion of my last visit to West WitteringHenry Royce's home town, Mr Royce passed the design of the Front Axle, and instructed us to go on with it, as there laid out. In accordance with this instruction we issued it to Mr Bailey on the 23rd March, not referring again to Mr Royce, in accordance with his instruction given verbally. We attach a print of "N" Scheme 690 herewith. I also note in your list of Goshawk II design work that the side steering tube is given as incomplete, but we received instructions from you that Mr Royce approved of the scheme, and accordingly we put it through.
