PROGRESS MEETING.

REPORT FOR 19TH JUNE, AT WHICH MR SWIFT, MR WILLIS, MR BAGNALL & BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} WERE PRESENT.

Section - MAGNETO & GOVERNOR DRIVE.

Adjusting washers E.2957 to E.2962 inclusive represent a series of washers which were originally arranged for the adjustment of the drive in order to take up slack. For some time only the first and last of the series have been ordered, these being ground to produce the remaining sizes. The works, however, are now of the opinion that they would prefer to have the full series.

This is a point which affects quite a number of parts, as at one time the works rather preferred to have a few quicker washers and grind same down, rather than a large number of washers rising in fine steps.

It was agreed that where this point arises in connection with any of the chassis sections we should re-produce the original scheme of multiple washers with fine steps. The C.O. on their part must inspect the Stores when ordering up for fresh series, and only order up to replace washers which have actually been used.

ALTERATION TO DASHBOARD.

Up to the present the hole for the switch had not been shown in the dashboard as there was some doubt as to whether it was wise to allow a large number of boards to be drilled. It was agreed that for the time being we should not machine out the dashboard to suit the switch until the wiring was definitely settled.

The above point has since, however, been re-considered and 250 dashboards are being drilled to suit the position of switch decided upon.
