X2585 Copy to R.{Sir Henry Royce} X2924 To from Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} Mr. Hives. Bnl/W27.6.19. PROGRESS MEETING. REPORT FOR JUNE 26TH. AT WHICH MR. SWIFT, MR. HIVES, MR. WILLIS, MR. BAILEY, MR. BAGNALL AND Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} WERE PRESENT. Proposed alteration to Piston for 40/50 Chassis. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} 17764 The works find that in fitting the Piston ring stops there is local distortion round stop, causing the groove adjacent to be closed in. It is proposed, therefore, to recess the hole for the pin for the depth of the groove. This was agreed. Mr. Hives also pointed out that the pistons, after running, were tight on local patch surrounding the ends of the gudgeon pin, and asked that the piston's surface might be recessed for " round the gudgeon pin. This also was agreed. Air Pump. Gudgeon Pin Retaining Piece. The Works requested that those parts which at present are spherical should be flat with a chamfer. As these parts are so designed as to be clear of the cylinder walls, this was agreed. Air Pump Air Intake Filter. The Experimental Department asked that a Rotherham lubricator might be fitted in place of the plug, E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} 5212, in the Air intake filter. This was agreed. Cylinder Water Connection Studs. S. 1077. S. 1077 which is at present fitted is too long, and the Production Drawing Office wishes to replace this by 1380 and T.65. This was agreed. Wheel Case Lowals. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} 2155. The Production Drawing Office wish to add these to the Supervision Sheets as they had been omitted. This was agreed. The Tool Office raised the point of internal machining on this case. It was agreed that this should be looked into by the Production Drawing Office. It did not appear upon discussion that it was necessary to retain all the machining now being carried | ||
