Dear Sirs,

Re Experimental All-steel Bentley,
Wide Entrance Body.

We were very surprised on receiving this car to find such a restricted luggage space in the rear boot. You will recall that we sent you LeC.5116 showing our proposals for the design and position of the rear squab, and for the shape of the back and the rear boot.lid{A. J. Lidsey}, and since you did not raise any comments we presumed you would be able to work to this.

A few days ago you telephoned us to the effect that you were having difficulty with the anatomical squab but subsequently informed us that this had been overcome, and that you could place the squab in the position shown on our drawing. On examining the car we find that approximately 2 ins. of waste space occurs between the squab and the front of the luggage boot. However, we are taking up this body and are setting it out as an overlay on a blueprint of our scheme LeC.5116.

We propose calling on you on Wednesday next when we will discuss with you the problem as a whole, and will arrange for the return of the car at the convenience of our Expl. Dept., in order that this matter and any other matters which may arise after the testing of the car may be corrected.

It is very important that the best use be made of the body space for luggage accommodation and we wish this car to represent the most economical arrangement of the accommodation in the body.

Yours faithfully,

For and on behalf of
ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
