From the Government and out-of-work pay from their Trades Unions. This, within a few shillings, would amount to as much as the men are able to earn, with their present short time. So that any further reduction below 10 chassis per week would mean suspending our workpeople for a period.

Jn. and Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} will prepare a statement for the Board on Wednesday Aug. 17th. showing what the results on finance would be if motor car production work was stopped, what number of workers would be suspended, and what numbers would remain on other work.

Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} will study and report what value of material in stock for big chassis could be utilised for Goshawks.

Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} will carry on as slowly as possible until after the Board meeting on the 17th August, when he will receive instructions.

(3) REFERENCE DAILY MEETINGS AT THE WORKS AND INTERDEPARTMENTAL CORRESPONDENCE.

It was stated that these daily meetings were taking place and were working very well, and that correspondence between departments was very much less.

(4) INHERENTLY CONTROLLED DYNAMOS.

This matter was discussed and will not be brought up further.

(5) 'ONE QUARTER OF A MILLION.'

This was erased from the Agenda.

(6) CHANGE SPEED LEVERS ON GOSHAWK CHASSIS.

This was also erased from the Agenda.

(7) PROGRESS IN PRODUCTION OF GOSHAWK CHASSIS.

It was stated that the engine unit has been run between 30 and 40 hours and that the engine gave great satisfaction. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} will send photos to CJ. It was also stated that the cost of manufacture would be a lot lower than that of Goshawk I. It was stated that no magneto was fitted to Goshawk II and that there was no place in the design for it to be fitted. The Conference were of the opinion that the present design ought to be such that a magneto could be fitted easily for colonial work, and that in many parts it would be impossible to sell this chassis until this is done. This, be it noted, is a reiteration of a statement made by the conference many months ago,(date 24/11/20)
