W/S. To BJ. c." Sn.{Mr Sanderson} c." Expt. Dept. X4602 KJP2/H22.8.23. 20 H.P. Car for Demonstration School. BJ2/H21.8.23. With reference to para. 1 of your above memo' I understood from conversation with Sn.{Mr Sanderson} that it was very probable that a standard production 20 HP. car would be allotted to the School. Copies of correspondence between Sn.{Mr Sanderson} and C. are attached to show you how my assumption was formed. With reference to para. 2 - your remarks about the necessity of having a standardised 20 H.P. at the School are noted. I myself, have heard on various occasions discussions and criticisms regarding the inadvisability of having experimental parts fitted to the School Car, and quite recognise that harm might/be caused by chauffeurs finding that their masters new cars were deficient of new experimental improvements as being fitted to the School Goshawk. With reference to para. 3 - Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} is away from Derby, but I have seen Mr. Warwick, and he is of the opinion that the present School Car (which is No.2-G-2) would be required for experimental work, but he thinks there would be no objection to it being used for driving only as asked for in my KJP1/H18.8.23. He, however, does not consider that in the event of a new car being allotted to the School this car should be permanently in the School Garage, as it has been up to date. KJP. K.J.P 3 att. | ||
