WST 6099 Ha/WST Sft{Mr Swift}/JMW.6/MW.21.2.35. Re. High Output Dynamos. - LOP. DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}916. With reference to memo. D/BP14/OG.19.2.35. and D/BPN/BP19/OG.20.2.35. below we give you our Works' report on this job. "We have received the two dynamos mentioned. The armatures are not fouling the poles as suggested. The dynamos are quite O.K. The trouble is caused by the armature having been knocked out of its position either in transport or by the person who has been fitting it to the engine. In the case of these two machines, the armature required moving slightly in the direction of the coupling end. Apparently, the shaft end which is projecting, had been knocked as previously mentioned in transport, or the fitter when assembling the coupling had knocked the armature through its bearings. The job was put right by turning the machine end for end, and gently tapping the case on the bench. The armature then came back to its correct position." We understand one of the two dynamos was handed to the Allocation Dept. and the other one to BY/M.D. and Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/WST. and no doubt they will see that same is sent to the Despatch Stores as soon as possible.
