Dear Mr. Mackay,

Thank you for your letter of the 14th October.

I think we should be able to do any tests necessary between 12 and 3.30 p.m. In any case I would suggest it is not necessary for you to be present when all the tests are made, as we can put the tyres in order of merit and let you have the results.

Personally I am coming to the conclusion that we must have brought on the squeal when we modified the sample from the original tyres tested. It would therefore be of value if you could produce a complete record showing the modifications made to the tread pattern from the first tyre that we tested.

Monday 28th October would be a good day for your visit as far as I am concerned.
