e to RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/chulos c GRW DD K.L.G Sparking Plugs 6001 Herewith report on K.L.G. 50x which were supplied to reduce wear at the plug points. These plugs have a higher heat resistance than K.L.G. F 30x. They were fitted to the ex-Lawson of 35EX. At 3379 miles one plug failed electrically, all of them had an increased gap of .005" and were carrying a fair amount of carbon. The plugs were cleaned and replaced. After a further 2000 miles, two more of the plugs failed. The gaps of the plugs had increased .010". Our opinion is that these plugs are running too cool, probably due to having a shorter reach, and as the wear of the plug points has not been reduced, as compared to standard, there is no point in continuing to road test them. We are returning them to RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/chulos for his inspection. RHW/W Rogers | ||
