We noticed that you had not had time to fit the runningboard toolboxes. Mr. Royce wished all the tools possible to be carried under the front seat. This can be done if a pot in the floor is made to accommodate the jack, thus:-

SEE ORIGINAL FOR SKETCH.

We discovered that owing to the thickness of the finishes on the doors being greater than Hooper's had anticipated the width of the front seat is 2" narrower than called for on our drawing. We are approaching Hooper's on this subject.

The instrument board was too far back towards the driver. Would you kindly arrange to have this put further forward in the scuttle at least 3". The white base to the grouping should never have occurred. We suggest that it be made black. As soon as possible we think this car should be given a framed patch of RR. instruments - (R's request).

The rear wheel carrier for this car, before it goes on test, should be N.sch.2769. We are supplying a scheme for a grid for use behind the wheel, but this can be added later. (N.Sch.2575)

Mr. Royce wishes the filler to be leaned back on all India cars to 12 1/2° from the vertical to give greater clearance between the cap and the body on the square cornered variety of back, which Hooper's have popularised for Sedanca's and Broughams. Would BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} please arrange this.

Would Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} tell us whether it is possible to get the petrol tank off 14-G-4 without lifting the body. The difficulty will lie in getting off the vent pipe to the filler.
