Order and construction specifics for a 'Close Coupled All Weather' car body.

CLOSE COUPLED ALL WEATHER. X.5830 16-G.4. X.5830 X.5770 We placed an order for the above body with Messrs. Parker & Co. on Thursday last, leaving with them all the necessary designs. They will be ready to start building by the latter part of next week, and will want the subframe. We agree that we want the central cross-member moved to a distance of 31.500 ins. from the rear axle to suit this special body, and are pleased to hear that you can arrange for this. Also we are able to say that no sheet metal heel-board cross member will be required. A special one will be made to suit the body by the coachbuilders. If they can have the subframe by next weekend they will aim at giving delivery at the end of the third week in Feb. As this is the first body of its kind to be constructed, and as it is for R's use at WW. next summer, we do not want to be tied to this date too rigidly. We presume that you will agree with us that although there may be a change in policy with respect to the introduction of the new 'twenty', we still need this car for two reasons : (1) R.{Sir Henry Royce} wants a body like this next summer.
