40 m/m Gun in Beaufighter.

We attach to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH's copy the original of :-

QPL.185 Arrgt. of Blast Tubes (40 m/m Gun in Beaufighter)

The above scheme shows the blast tube extension between the front bulkhead and the gun front spherical mounting, spring loaded to assist in assembling and removing the gun when in the plane.

The actual blast tube which is 4.000 inside diameter, should be 48.000 long, and will be cut to suit the aeroplane fuselage when assembling.
