COPY. THE BRISTOL AEROPLANE CO., LTD., FILTON HOUSE, BRISTOL. Your Ref. Ve/HGF.1/CR.{Mr Cra???ster / Mr Chichester} Our Ref. AIRCRAFT/EDO/F/197. 12th May, 1941. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., Derby. For the attention of Mr. Viale. Dear Sirs, 40 mm. Gun Installation. We thank you for your letters of the 8th and 9th instant, and for the enclosed drawings Nos. CS.260, CS.270, CS.264 and CS.269, showing how your 40 mm. gun will now be installed in Beaufighter. From the information given, we are preparing a drawing showing the modifications to floor and keel with the necessary stiffeners, lining, etc., and will arrange to have this work carried out by our representative at Duxford. The screws for fixing the forward mounting should be with the machine at Duxford, since the 20 mm. mountings were removed at that station. Yours faithfully, L.G. Frise. Chief Designer. | ||
