20 HP., and it may be a better time to arrange some scheme which would compensate the owners with the last of the present 20 HP. cars.

One might even assume that the buyers of the last Phantom cars would not consider we were treating them very generously by giving them central oiling if we did the same thing on the 20 HP.

If we can forget for the time being the job of fitting oiling to the existing 20 HP. it would suit us in many ways :-

(1) We have no design for applying this scheme to existing cars and the material which is in the Works is not suitable.

(2) We dare not take on any other job which is in any way likely to affect our main programme.

(3) 20 HP. cars with central oiling will be on test in about 10 weeks. If these cars are held up for the 'SS{S. Smith}', one would assume that most of the existing 20 HP. cars would be delivered to the Customers before central oiling was announced. Therefore, it would cause less disturbance and than many previous alterations.

As regards the Phantom. We are fortunate in having a fully completed WW. design which has run 10,000 miles and also the material which is in the Works is suitable for fitting this scheme.

We recommend that on the last 50 Phantoms we make use of the bosses which have been added for the central oiling and fit to them Enots lubricators, even if this places the lubricators in not the best position, so that to change over, all we have to do is replace the Enots with the Bijur drip plugs and add the pipes. contd :-
