X3806 Hsl./LG30.1.29. To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} CENTRAL OILING TO EXISTING PHANTOM X3993 AND 20 HP. CARS. In considering this we ought to take into account that there is much more justification in giving the customers who buy the last of the present Phantoms some recompense, than there is in the case of the 20 HP. In the case of the Phantom, the whole chassis is being re-designed and the appearance of the car materially altered so that the buyers of the last Phantoms will have a car which shortly afterwards will be obviously not the latest model. The customers therefore will have a justifiable grouse, and it would be a wise move to do everything possible to reduce the complaints. We consider therefore that although a very good case can be made out for the Phantom, the 20 HP. cannot be considered in the same category. We should also remember that at some future date we shall be radically altering the 20 HP. by the new longer and lower frame, and new engine with turbulent head. In our opinion that will cause a greater disturbance amongst the buyers of the contd :- | ||
