-7- Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey}2/A4.25.2.32.cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} 12HP. LANCHESTER. Further performance test have been made on this car by comparing it with 17.G.IV., (representing an average high compression 20/25HP of similar body/capacity) in side by side acceleration tests. The results were that 17.G.IV., gains nearly one car length between 10 m.p.h. and 40 m.p.h. on top gear, but above 40 m.p.h. the Lanchester is superior; on third gear there is very little difference up to 40 m.p.h. above which speed the Lanchester is easily superior. Maximum speed of the Lanchester is at least 5 m.p.h. greater than 17.G.IV. In view of the fact that these two cars have approximately the same passenger capacity the Lanchester performance cannot be described as anything but very creditable. Acceleration curves are given for 17.G.IV. for comparison with those obtained on the Lanchester. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey} | ||
