We send herewith N. sch. 2977, shewing modifications to the existing 20/25 HP. clutch to enable the spigot bearing to be lubricated automatically from the gearbox in the same way as is proposed for Phantom ll. It will be noticed that there is a modification to the gearbox casting, and that the bearing is moved slightly rearward. We also shew on this drawing modifications to N. scheme 2935 to improve the stop for the damper plate, and also the method of securing the starter ring and the clutch spider by studs instead of bolts. We suggest that the device for lubricating the spigot bearing should be applied to the standard 20/25 HP. clutch for purposes of experiment. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
