BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} C. to SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} C. to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} HY.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} X7310 DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}3/M23.2.31. P. 2. EPICYCLIC 3rd. SPEED GEARBOX. Herewith we send the originals of N. schs. 3226/7/8., as requested in your telegram this morning. They are schemes for the controls from the steering column of the vacuum cylinder operating 4th. and 3rd. speeds. In the case of N. scheme 3226. we have incorporated this control into the lowered controls revised in accordance with R's and others suggestions. Evidently the existing controls could be fitted up temporily on similar lines if it were any saving of time, or other advantage. You will see that on N. sch. 3228. we ask for a slight modification to the cover of the vacuum cylinder. (N. sch. 3236. as sent to R.{Sir Henry Royce} was unfinished. we will get it away tonight if we can finish it: otherwise tomorrow.) DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
