Midlands. we used to do anything to the cars from adjusting the tappets to complete overhauls.

I was also in the expt. dept. when the 6 1/2 litre car was developed both on the test bench & on the road.

In 1928 & 1929 I had charge of the Racing dept. up at the Service Dept. at Kingsbury where we built the cars & maintained them.

In 1930 we moved down to the Works expt shop & assisted in developing the 4 litre six under Col. Barrington. Also quite a lot of experimental work was done on the 8 litre. & in 1930/31 we built & raced the team of 6 1/2 litres at Le. Mans.

I then went back to the Service Dept & shortly afterwards I went to Capt Barnato to look after his cars. I built a special racing car for him with an 8 litre engine with which we held the Brooklands lap record for a short time last year. also I built a special 4 1/2 litre car for a
