-3- Contd. A change of sleeve position in relation to the internal time functioning might also alter the noisiness of the machine. It might make it worse or it might improve it. Now it would appear that these experiments might with avantage be carried out on the R.O.1., in which case a slight increase of noise, if it occurred would be very little disadvantage. It also occurs to us that because this R.O.1 magneto has to be used with a jump spark distributor it should, if insulation permits, be arranged for higher voltage and smaller quantity. We have a high opinion of the Watford Magneto Co's mechanical production ability, but we do not think they always get there in the correct arrangement of these electrical machines on principle, as they have no individual of super-technical ability corresponding to, say, Mr. Young of the B.T.H. Co., or to Dr. Turner of the Lucas Company. EFC. | ||
