To EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}/Cgh.{W Clough} Copy to ES. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} RHO. HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} E/Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}2/MN.31.3.37. Chassis Jacks. With reference to our E/Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}2/MN.20.3.37, we wish now to restate the situation with respect to chassis jacks as the result of decisions taken at the last chassis conference. It is decided that built-in hydraulic jacks shall be fitted to the Wraith III, and therefore the designs already issued will hold good until such time as we have received from Messrs.Jackall particulars of their proposed jacks which may replace the Sessions jacks already catered for. In the meantime Messrs.Sessions.Ltd. are considering a cheapened design of pump and jack which will be considered in conjunction with the Jackall proposals. In view of this decision it is possible to release the rear dumb irons and rear spring shackles for Wraith III. With respect to Bentley III, the decision still holds good that we may fit the portable Sessions hydraulic jack, and therefore the rear dumb iron and rear spring shackle will have to be held up.
