[STAMP: SALES DIRECTOR'S OFFICE] 30th March 1937. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., DERBY. Dear Sirs, Invoice No. F.24409-1/2. We are a little surprised and disappointed, after having arrived at a settlement of this outstanding item with your Mr. Hallam when the writer recently had the pleasure of visiting you, to receive yours of the 25th March, Ref: G/Cam/HL.54/IL. As already explained, the question of adapting our Jackall system to your Phantom lll Chassis involved the manufacture of entirely special material and the concentrated efforts of our special fitting staff for several weeks, making it necessary to shelve all other Jackall work of a similar nature. It so happened that we were particularly busy at the time in that department and we actually offended another customer in the process, because we were unable to attend to his requirements. We made a perfectly satisfactory job of work and your engineers expressed themselves as being quite satisfied. Your representative, when he called at our Great Portland Street fitting station to inspect the car, congratulated our Fitting Manager and confessed that your own folk had been puzzled to know how to tackle the job. Our invoice figure for the work represented only part of our cost. | ||
