ACCIDENT TO 15-EX - PHANTOM SPORTS CAR. X4199

You have no doubt heard of the unfortunate accident which occurred to this car when it was being driven by CWB. and Mr. Ghrylls near Amiens.

The cause of the accident is so far a mystery.

CWB. and Mr. Ghrylls are inclined to blame the steering, but we cannot of course accept this as being the real cause.

As a result of the accident our man Butler who was in the back of the car died at Amiens two or three days after the smash. He was buried at Derby today.

At the moment we all feel too upset to argue the cause of the accident.

The remains of the car are on the way back to Paris and fortunately the front of the car and the steering are undamaged. We will send further reports after we have had an opportunity of examining the car and conferring with CWB.

Within the last 2 weeks we have also lost another of our experimental testers - Mr. Wenger - who was fatally injured when riding a motorcycle.
