Re Utility Test.

With primary short-circuited.
wire-gap = '06".

In order to obtain a non-inductive resistance, a pencil mark on paper was tried; but to convey any appreciable current a very heavy mark was required, the graphite then was rapidly dispersed on sending a current.
Marks made with Lead and aluminium on sand-paper were similarly ineffective.
Hence 6 volt coils were used
