6.B.1V. CAR THERMOSTAT.

As Sales have approved of the Bentley dummy shutter assembly ( as being fitted to 6.B.1V. for France next time) we shall standardise these for M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} series chassis. They will necessitate a water temp. thermostat and if possible, we want to run the scheme on 6.B.1V. which we wish to standardise. This is as follows -

(1) Cyl. head end cover and connections - as detailed to EB.3320 except that a 3/8" union should be fitted to it instead of a 3/8" as detailed. If it is not possible to get a casting for this alteration without delaying the car, either an existing finished casing can be plugged and re-drilled for a 3/8" union or a 3/8" union can be used with a pipe reduced to 3/8" dia.

(2) Thermostat casing cover as shown on Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}415 attached - since this means a new casting, for 6.B.1V. a casing to EB.3321 modified to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}406 should be used - such a casing is in existence.

(3) Thermostat - to B.G.A.2073.A. - we will supply same.

(4) Bypass pipes - as shown on Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}415 attached - 3/8" dia. This necessitates new banjos being made for the pipe connecting the two hot spots and raising of the air silencer by about .375 as you did for us on 3.B.1V. car.
