Wraith II. Back Axle.

We send herewith N.Sch.4901 showing a stiffening plate to be welded to the Scott axle forging for the axle shown by N.Sch.4826.

No axles should be built up without this stiffening plate.

It is not now convenient to provide lock nuts on the main flange studs as the ends of the studs are not accessible for riveting. Therefore, to prevent oil leaks and the screwing out of the studs we show shouldered studs.

We have not previously shown an air vent.
We suggest that this should be incorporated in the filler casting.

E/HDY.{William Hardy}

N.Sch.4901 herewith.
