Dear Mr. Papelian,

Thank you for your letter and the list enclosed.

As a matter of fact, during my visit to American in the Spring I had a long talk with Ralph Teetor, Chief Engineer of the Perfect Circle Piston Co., and really, at the moment I do not think we are justified in going to America for our piston rings.

The partially 'L' sectioned ring which I see they are advertising was used by us in 1926.

At the moment we are not suffering from any form of ring scuffing. The average 4¼-litre Bentley as at present being turned out gives better than 2,000 m.p.g. when run in, which, in our opinion, is as good an oil consumption as is desirable; as a matter of fact we feel that 1500 m.p.g. is quite a sound oil consumption, because we would rather the oil were used than be thrown away.

Yours sincerely,
