Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} BY.12/N.22.6.38. Re: Phan.III Clutches - Not Stopping. J.Musker Esq., 3.BT.{Capt. J. S. Burt - Engineer}73. The above customer complained sometime ago about the difficulty in engaging either first or reverse gear when at rest. This matter was also raised at the Chassis Conference on the 18th. February, when it was pointed out a clutch brake had been designed to be issued experimentally. The instructions were issued by memo BY/Ald.{F. Allwood - Experimental Design}&/G.16.3.38 to S.CD.495, but we understand the parts although made have not been fitted to a chassis. As we have received a further memo from Sales asking if we can do anything for the above customer, we should like you to arrange for the parts to be fitted and tried if you consider this necessary, or alternatively, we could send the parts on to 'N' for them to fit to 3.BT.{Capt. J. S. Burt - Engineer}73. Will you please let us have your views on this matter. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
