BRAKE WEAR CHART. The chart serves the dual purpose of telling us: (a) The ratio of wear both front and rear on all the cars under a variety of conditions. (b) The state of the linings on all the cars for servicing purposes. 2.B.50. Ratio of wear Front/Rear = 3/2 The clearances on this car have not been increased, and the fronts have at times stuck on. 3.B.50. Figure to be obtained when the car is next in. 4.B.50. After 2,600 miles with VG.91 rear linings and B2. and RU. front, ratio of wear Front/Rear = 1/2. No complaints. 8.B.V. Odd linings. 9.B.V. Cast iron drums. F/R wear = 1/3. Aluminium drums. F/R wear = 2/1 on the short mileage so far covered. 10.B.V. Ratio of wear Front/Rear = 2/5 over a short mileage. Should be 1/1. 12.B.V. Doubtful figure of wear F/R = 1/3. 30.G.VII.Figure to be obtained when car is next available. 1.R.1. Wear ratio F/R = 2/6. Handbrake has been sticking on, probably getting rear linings very hot. 1.Rt.I. Wear ratio F/R = 1/1. Brakes have hardly been used. The cars to be watched are :- 3.B.50. These are good brakes, and although the car is not very fast, it is a fairly typical rationalised chassis. 9.B.V. We must check the figures already obtained over a greater mileage. 12.B.V.
