Also observe any distortion. e) Steatite, porcelain &c 1) For use in sparking plugs, break a sample and note fracture, whether rough like earthenware or smooth like glass. 2) Heat on plate over gas-ring and note whether it cracks. 3) Observe whether inherently non-hygroscopic, or dependent on glage. 4) Make up into plugs and test on aero-engine.
