GOSHAWK 1. X3481

With reference to your telegram asking that this car shall be brought to W.W. this week. We are afraid this is impossible, but we are doing our utmost to enable us to bring the car next week.

The alterations made to the chassis are very extensive, consisting of - new radiator, dashboard and bonnet, new carburetter, induction pipes, controls, new wheel case, battery ignition and controls, new exhaust system, new axle gears (we are fitting the same ratio as used on Goshawk-11 so that we can get a direct comparison), shock absorbers at the rear, new petrol tank and vacuum tank etc.

The majority of the pieces are machined and we are busily engaged in fitting the chassis up.

We cannot, of course, give any guarantee that it will be running as well as Goshawk type 11.

No effort, however, is being spared to try and complete the car so that we can bring it to W.W. next week.

The delay in completing this job has been due to the fact that Goshawk-1 has been put on one-side when more urgent work has come along. in D.O. and Expl: Dept:
